Glowing Skin

Having perfect skin is a dream that we all share. There are countless  skin care products available that all claim they’re your best bet for getting you the glowing skin you crave, but sometimes you can react to these products poorly because of their harshness. Everything you need for that perfect glow can be found right  in your kitchen! Here are 15 things you very likely have on-hand or can easily purchase that will give you wonderful, healthy looking skin in no time:

 1. Grapes

Grapes can be made into a paste to give you great looking skin in no time, or you can simply cut a couple of them open and rub the juices on your face. Eating them often can help you from the inside out, as they’re full of antioxidants.

2. Cucumber

Cucumbers can also be ingested to give you a healthy glow from the inside out since they’re mostly water. To use them externally, make a paste to really hydrate your skin. Cutting off small pieces and laying them over your tired eyes for ten minutes or so will also get rid of any bags you have – This is a trick many spas have been using for years.

3. Lemons

We all know that drinking lemon water can help detox our bodies, but did you know that lemons are also a natural astringent? Simply rub a slice over your face to help get rid of blemishes. Try not to do this too often though as lemon can actually bleach your skin; once a week is more than enough.

4. Tomato Juice

Tomatoes are chalked-full of antioxidants, so it makes sense that the juice would be great for our skin. If you don’t have tomato juice on hand or you’d prefer something a little less messy, just make a paste out of fresh tomatoes. Leave the paste on your skin for a couple of minutes and rinse off with tepid water for the ultimate glow.

5. Carrot juice

Rinsing your face with carrot juice is another way to get a gorgeous glow in no time at all.

6. Milk

There are many milk based skin products available for purchase, but why purchase one when you very likely already have milk in your refrigerator? All you need to do is splash the milk over your face to get a natural glow that can’t be beat. If you need an exfoliate, just add a little bit of salt to it to scrub away all those imperfections naturally.

7. Cabbage juice

If you’ve been looking for a way to use up leftover cabbage juice, simply mix it up with a little bit of honey – Apply to your face for a few minutes and rinse off to help prevent wrinkles.

8. Aloe Vera Juice

We all know that aloe is a magic plant – It’s used to heal burns, cuts, and scrapes in almost no time at all. By applying the juice to your face, you’ll not only be hydrating your skin, but it will also help with any pigmentation issues you may have.

9. Limes

They work exactly the same as lemons, but are a great alternative for anyone that doesn’t enjoy the strong smell that lemons can have. Tip: Try not to use any citrus products prior to spending a lot of time in the sun, especially if you burn easily.

10. Yogurt

If you don’t want to deal with the mess of milk on your skin, yogurt is a great alternative. Apply it like a paste for a couple of minutes and rinse off to get the glow you’ve been looking for. Add apricots for a wonderful scent or honey if you have dry skin to help moisturize.

11. Sugar

Sugar is a less abrasive exfoliate than salt is. It can be combined with honey to make a mask that will leave your skin feeling incredibly soft and moisturized. The mask can be left on your face for up to ten minutes before you rinse it off with warm water.

12. Banana

Bananas make an incredibly wonderful paste for your skin. Just mash one up and apply it to your face, leave it on for about 15 minutes and rinse with warm water to get the feeling of an instant facial.

13. Rose Water

Keep some rose water in a spray bottle and spray it right on your face when you want to feel refreshed – Your skin will immediately start glowing!
