Talking about sex and the related issues includes infections and other transmitted diseases as common.

Belonging to the urban section of society, we are well aware of certain protective measures and concerns regarding sex to prevent diseases like herpes and chlamydia.
With scientists evolving in their researchers to understand the human body better. They have recently found a sexual transmitted disease that is affecting millions but is lesser known. The sexually transmitted disease is called Mycoplasma Genitalium.

Though most of the std affects women. But, in this case, it affects the man equally or even little more as compared to the other partner. The bacteria were discovered long back in 1980, but the researchers did not have right equipment to study it. With the advancement in technology over time, they got the chance to study it more closely and share the concerns related to it.

Causes

trapped in std

According to the experiments and observation, it was mostly found in people who had more than 3 to 4 sexual partners. It even included those who had unprotected sex. The ones who did not have sex at all had no trace of it.

Its effect

The effect of the bacteria is heavy on both male and female.

For Men

In the case of men, it sources inflammation in the urethra (urethritis). It also causes mucopurulent discharge (mucus and pus) in the urinary tract and burning while urinating.

Some men also experience watery discharge from the penis at odd hours and time.

For Women

It might not be as clear to detect this bacterium in women, but it surely affects the sex organs and health drastically. The inflammation in the urethra is experienced by women too. In major cases, it causes cervicitis and pelvic inflammatory diseases those include endometritis and salpingitis types of problems.

safe sex
Some women may experience bleeding after sex or even chances of infertility which is indeed a major concern.

Note- It is highly associated with the HIV infection. It is also suspected to play an active role in the development of prostate and ovarian cancers and lymphomas.

With such alarming data and awareness, one needs to take this STD seriously.

The sad part is that the urine examination or the vaginal swab does not detect Mycoplasma Genitalium in the organ. This means there are a lot of women and men out there who are affected by it and are unaware.

So, the questionable part is which is the best way to avoid and detect it?

The solution is obvious condoms! Use condoms as much as possible to avoid any kind of infections or transmitted diseases.

become aware and save yourself and your partner

According to the researchers the testing technology to detect Mycoplasma Genitalium, chlamydia and gonorrhea at the same time is soon going to be available.

You can even consult your doctor to know whether they have adapted the technology to detect or not.

I want to sum up by saying

Never compromise with your safety for pleasure!
Be aware, alert and spread the word!
